Homework
Minimal homework in the early years
Given the length of the school day and the richness of the educational programme, and aiming to promote a balance with rest, leisure and other recreational activities, we strive to assign minimal homework, especially in the early years of primary school.
However, occasionally and in accordance with the pedagogical decisions of each teacher, students may receive gradual and age-appropriate assignments.
A valuable tool for learning
Homework is a valuable tool for children to consolidate the learning acquired in class and to develop study habits that will support them throughout their lives. Through practising at home, students reinforce learned concepts, improve their autonomy and strengthen their sense of responsibility. The tasks will be gradual and suited to the children's age.
Regular reading at home
Regular reading at home is encouraged, and we ask parents to collaborate by helping their children establish a reading routine throughout the year.
Additionally, students may be asked to research information for certain projects, study for assessments or complete unfinished work. These activities often serve as a useful step toward independent learning.
Supporting independence
We recommend that parents support their children with their homework while still encouraging independence and responsibility in learning.
Gradually, and according to their abilities, students begin to use Google tools such as “Google Calendar” and “Google Classroom”.
